The technical architect is a key member of the professional services and license sales efforts. Technical Architects will be called on to present technical solutions and information to both prospects and customers and thus must be well versed in the Performance Management Portfolio. In the sales role, technical architects will respond to complex solution requirements both in the form of implementation proposals and sales presentations. Often, the Technical Architect must play a central role in helping the prospect or customer visualize and validate a solution to accurately architect, design and develop desired customizations. The implementation role will typically include technical project management of a number of development resources and ultimate responsibility for the technical deliverables of a project.
This role requires a proven technical skill set that has been demonstrated in the development of enterprise business applications as well as the integration of complex systems. The ability to understand the business functions that the customizations support and the ability to conceptualize a technical solution based on clients’ business requirements is also key. Ability to work with or in parallel with multiple development teams consisting of several technical consultants, or large-scale projects with multiple technical streams and 10+ technical consultants is also imperative.
